Don't join the anger

Evil persists on planet earth as we sadly witnessed today.

Human beings seem to easily find something to be angry about, someone to be angry at. Bitterness and anger often lead down a dark path engulfing the heart with hate.

The people killed today at The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill Pennsylvania, were killed by someone who let bitterness, anger, resentment go unchecked in his heart. That is why the Bible gives us clear direction as a Christian to have a heart filled with goodness.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Luke 6:35 “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

Colossians 3:12 ¶ Therefore, as [the] elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also [must do].

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

While we all want to stop such killings from taking place as happened today, we need to first of all make sure we have no bitterness or resentment in our hearts, but instead love as the Bible commands Christians to.
